A few years ago, I took a Reiki I class. At the time, I practiced mostly on myself and my daughter, but I didn’t fully know how Reiki would continue showing up in my life.
Then, last year, while going through some health challenges, I started thinking more about people who live with pain, stress, or emotional heaviness every day. It reminded me that healing and support can come in many forms, and it made me want to continue my Reiki journey.
That led me to complete my Reiki II certification with Maryann Lonergan of Inner Balance Reiki.
As an Operations Manager, much of my work is about structure. I help organize details, create things systems, manage moving pieces, and bring clarity to that can feel overwhelming. In Reiki II, we deepened our practice and learned more about distance Reiki, animal Reiki, and how Reiki can be offered for emotional healing.
Distance Reiki can be shared with someone who lives far away, but it can also be used with situations connected to the past, present, or future. That part of the training was especially meaningful to me because it showed me how Reiki can support more than just what is physically in front of us.
Reiki is often thought of as support for physical pain, but it can also bring calm, grounding, and support during emotionally difficult seasons, stressful moments, or life situations that feel heavy.
Since completing the class, I have been using Reiki much more in my personal life. It has also helped me see how this work connects with the way I already support people.
Reiki adds another layer to that. It helps me stay grounded, present, and intentional in how I support others, whether I am helping with a business process, a personal transition, or simply holding space for someone who needs a moment to breathe.
For me, Reiki II is not separate from the work I do. It is another way to bring clarity, calm, and care into the spaces I’m part of.
This certification feels like a natural next step for me. It brings together the practical and the intuitive, the structured and the calm. And I’m excited to keep growing in both.
