I assisted a client in her home office with organizing evaluations from her workshops. As a strong advocate for survivors of domestic violence, she conducts workshops that empower individuals to transition from survivors to thrivers. These workshops will undergo comprehensive evaluation by PhD students to assess their impact on participants’ lives. The evaluations include pre-workshop assessments and post-workshop follow-ups, revealing profound transformations facilitated by the workshops.

Our project required sorting and scanning evaluations from the past twenty years, which was challenging due to the need to redact sensitive information. We then carefully organized these files on a platform similar to Dropbox, sorting them by year, month of workshop, and file type. Although the process seemed straightforward, it turned out to be time-consuming. And if my client had done it alone, she would’ve felt extremely overwhelmed.
To make things more efficient and get the project off the ground, I created a systematic method for scanning, transferring, and organizing evaluations. This approach not only ensured smooth operations but also simplified the task, making it more manageable and less intimidating for everyone involved.

Engaging directly with clients and occasionally co-working in their environments gives me a break from the virtual world I mostly live in. This occasional face-to-face interaction leads to meaningful connections and leads to productive collaboration. If in-person interaction is not an option, I suggest you consider virtual co-working as an alternative. I guarantee it’ll help you feel less isolated, keep you accountable, and remind you that you’re not alone in your business.
