I had a different kind of day in mind. I had client work to do, meetings on the calendar, and I was already thinking ahead to the next day, as I usually do. Preparing for what is coming next helps me feel grounded, focused, and ready.
Still, I have learned that no matter how organized we are, unexpected things happen. And even when we know that is part of life, those moments can still throw us off.
This photo with my daughter, Liani, captures one of those days. She needed me, and everything else had to shift.
As a business owner, I have learned that when the unexpected happens, the goal is not to force the day to go exactly as planned. The goal is to respond with clarity, care, and as much calm as possible.
Here are three lessons I come back to in those moments.
Not every day will go according to plan. Even with solid systems, a full calendar, and the best intentions, life can still interrupt the schedule.
What helps most is having enough support in your business to adapt when needed, and enough clarity to know what needs your attention first.
If your week did not go as planned, I hope this reminds you that you are allowed to adjust, take care of your people, and still move forward.
