A good leader knows how to delegate. A good delegator is excellent at communicating, takes responsibility for their actions (especially mistakes), and knows how to build trust with their partners.
If you are doing the following, you can be considered good at delegating:
✅Before you start assigning work, you prepare yourself by grouping your administrative work and projects into repetitive tasks, ad-hoc projects, and complex work. Then you determine what needs to be assigned.
✅You know how to provide clear direction, detailed instructions (in written form if possible), and you know how to set clear deadlines.
✅You choose a VA with the right skills, someone you can trust. Who you choose to work with is very important because you will need to grant authority to that person to make decisions on your behalf.
✅You check-in without micromanaging and provide support if needed. Different people work in different ways, so focus on the desired outcome, not on the method.
✅When reviewing results, you recognize good work without taking it for granted. Let your VA know if they did a good job. This will also help in times when feedback is necessary.

Last Tuesday, I ended a 13-year career in the corporate world. Last week, I started a new chapter in my professional journey. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a VERY long time and I’m SO happy that it’s finally here!
I’m truly THANKFUL for the skills, knowledge, and experience that I gained during these past years, but I’m READY to dedicate all my energy and time to my VA business and my clients.
I’m looking forward to this new beginning with excitement and faith!
