There is some up-front work that you need to do before you start working with your VA, but once you take care of it, the rest is easy!

1. Be prepared – Before you get on the phone, write down what you want to talk about and what you want to accomplish. At the beginning of the meeting ask: what’s the intended outcome of this meeting? You should not feel rushed or have the urgency to get off the phone. If you know exactly what you want to say, your meetings will be more productive.
2. Delegate your repetitive tasks – As you do your own administrative work, identify what tasks are repetitive and not fun for you! and make a list. Share the list with your VA and ask which tasks she can easily take care of.
3. Provide step-by-step instructions – Provide your VA with clear instructions. Create these instructions in a written format so that you can easily share them. Take screenshots and include helpful information such as links and phone numbers. If you are not good at creating step-by-step instructions, ask your VA to do them for you!
4. Delegate more complex tasks – Once your VA gets familiarized with your business, repeat steps 1-3, and delegate more difficult and time-consuming administrative work. You can even delegate project management. Less admin work on your plate, more time to innovate!

Happy Father's Day

alfonso

When I was almost two years old, I fell from the fourth floor of the apartment building where I lived in Perú. I landed on my feet, mostly on my left side, and broke my left hip into 16 pieces.
For nine months, I had to wear a cast and became insecure. The man in the picture took a leave of absence from work (he was a police officer) and held my hands all day for months. He tells me that I would only let go of his hands when I fell asleep. This man is my grandfather Alfonso.

He is funny, silly, caring, and loving. Thanks for taking care of me, for being a dad figure my whole life, and for being patient with me.

Get well soon Papito. Te Amo. Happy Father’s Day!
